    Re: Let's Lose a Person!

You can put me in for one pound lost. I'm now 228 instead of 229. Maybe 'cause it's earlier in the morning than when I weighed the other day--whatever, I'll take it!

I agree with whoever said about having veggies cut up and ready. I cut up peppers, celery and carrots last Sunday and I know we've eaten a lot more veggies this week.

this is why it's important to have snacks that are well balanced in addition to meals that are well balanced. for instance, honey mixed with peanut butter spread on 3 or 4 crackers gives you something sweet for the initial sugar fix, complex carbs to keep you from a sugar 'low', and protein which keeps on going after the other 2 are gone. this one is especially tasty with a glass of milk
Great info tinapbeana! Sounds like I need to drop the soda once and for all - diet or not. I kinda figured that, so not too surprised. But it will be worth it if I can lose weight before our big vacation!

I'm down to only one diet pop a day...usually mid afternoon when I want a kick. I'm drinking at least 64 oz of water a day, so there's not a lot of extra room for pop. I've notice the craving issue when I drank more. As tinapbeana said, the more balanced a snack the less cravings and I've noticed that as well.

Ugh - reading my yogurt pkg. this a.m. and even it has high fructose corn syrup in it!! Where does one obtain yogurt w/o it? Can it be had at the regular grocery in the form of plain yogurt w/o the fruit?

To help balance it out this morning I tossed in a handful of oats and am eating a tablespoon of peanut butter.

Note to self: MUST READ PACKAGES better!!!

get regular plain yogurt. unsweetened, not 'lite' or 'low fat' (ya'll do know that low-fat dairy has higher sugar content, right?).

in your plain regular yogurt, try adding homemade jams or jellies (or some without the corn syrup!), a spoonful of honey and some vanilla extract and some fruit, or all of the above plus some crushed walnuts and crushed graham crackers. it's like eating cheesecake!!!

Hey Count me in too! I am going to lose 40 # by the end of May. So far I have lost 6 but 2 of them found me again. I don't check this site every day so I missed this but will try to look here more often. Anything I can do to encourage and help anyone else, let me know.

Fudge doesn't just call my name--it yells, sings, and dances in front of me.

Today home with the kids. I did thirty minutes of pushups, situps, squats and other exercises with hand weights. Not as good as a gym workout for me, but I did get my heart rate up, which helps the metabolism!

I got all of the information and numbers ready for the accountant for the taxes, so that should free me up to start moving more. I will mail it Monday and will try to get in some walking that day as well. You feel light as a feather once you finish something like this. I do all the work and the accountant just plugs in the numbers but he knows all the new laws and I figure in the end that he saves me alot of money. So, i will start working in the yard next week for a lot of my exercize. My yard will thank me believe me. I have alot of weeds to pick. Tomorrow is the Super Bowl so, we'll be up at our Son's house visiting our first grandchild that was born in December. Can't wait to see her.

Stonyfield Farm organic yogurt doesn't use HFCS, it's low fat, and it has added fiber. It's really tasty!

3 lbs down on the scale this morning! 170 lb! I had, er, eliminated the waste before weighing KWIM.

Fudge crawls up my arm and jumps into my mouth.

just wanted to check in and say you guys are doing great... we got a little off-track (DH and I are both trying to lose weight) last night because of our anniversary...
before that we were doing ok with our diet though...we base it on whatever loss leaders/sale items we can find and our bulk bonless skinless chicken...
teriyaki grilled boneless skinless chicken with steamed cabbage, steamed broccoli with shredded cheddar, apples and peanut butter, oranges, fresh sliced cucumber, salad...
also, tortillas, refried beans, salsa, cheese and a couple other items have been around because of loss leader sales so we have been eating those...
we also try to drink about a gallon of water a day and for when we aren't in the mood for water we try to have crystal lite or hot tea...
i think our area of trouble is activity... we don't tend to get enough of it... we are a little too attached to our computers... i do have cardio DVD's that i like to do though... I've just been avoiding them as i've been fighting a cold and wake up every morning with a sore throat and am just not in the mood... will aim to get back to doing them at least 3 times a week...
