Good poll...hard decision. I picked retirement since I feel it is more important. My other goal is paying off home equity loan and I seem to be thinking about that more since the retirement is all automated.

As I have accomplished the first 3 goals, my two main goals are investing for retirement and saving up for a house downpayment- both long-term goals, as I am currently a happy renter.

I voted e-fund.

My big super overall goal is a comfortable retirement, plain and simple.

We've taken some time off to focus on other things (family) but I am taking charge this year and want to get our e-fund back to where it was - so I voted that. A short-term goal, but everything else is fine and on track so I am ignoring in the meantime.

Once back to it I think retirement/building wealth/paying mortgage will all be kind of big goal rolled in 1 - they all kind of accomplish the same for us. Sooner we pay off the mortgage, we can retire, the more wealth we build the better (& sooner) retirement will be, etc. I pretty much want to attack those goals all equally I guess. But I Would have voted retirement since that is the end goal.

I voted before I read the part about which one you think the most about..I don't tend to think much about any of it, but If I did, I think more about an EF than the car loan/mortgage.

This is kind of a tricky poll because the one that is foremost on my mind isn't necessarily what I am spending the biggest percentage of my money on. It's only foremost because it's a) a short-term goal and a b) it gets all my available spare penny, and therefore, c) it's not automated like the other ones.

Right now it's been paying off the cc we put DH's last tuition bill on - currently at 0%. Usually the primary focus is saving for retirement and paying student loans.
