I will be giving my mom a check for $200 and a few other little trinkets. Normally I would buy her presents, but with being in the hospital and all the needs her transition to wheelchair living is going to create I figured she could use cash more than "stuff".

Other than that, things should be pretty small. I don't know if DH and I are exchanging gifts this year.

I bought a laptop computer as a birthday present for my sister for $1,800. I also gave my dad $2,000 for his birthday a couple years ago to get his dental work done.

Most expensive will be the largest radius superconducting disk I can afford. Haven't looked into price yet, but am hoping to get one about the size of a hockey puck. I have a feeling hockey puck size might be out of my league, though. I do not look forward to shopping for this, but thank goodness for the internet which will make it possible for me even to attempt.

Huh?? How did "superconducting" in my post above turn out red? I don't recall using any HTML. Can we use HTML here?

Oops sorry. Mystery explained. It is because I just used the search function to find this post and it highlighted the search term in red. Nevermind. (blushing with stupidity)

That is AWESOME. I love Mario.

I usually spend the most on my b/f. This year I spent $140 on him for a Craftsman tool bench, a Nautica vest and some random computer supplies. I got all of it on sale though, so it looks like I spent about $200. He has historically spent more on me for birthdays, etc. so I try to reciprocate as best I can within my budget - he makes a lot more money.

I spend about $50 each on my parents and everyone else is less than $20.

This is my most expensive Christmas in some time. I bought my dad and sister (she lives with him and takes care of him) a 32" LCD flat panel HDTV. Cost with tax was about $530. He's 83 and his favorite thing to do is watch and record football...any kind of football. I delivered it the same day I got it, set it up, called up their cable and ordered the HD package for less than he was paying for standard cable (got a premire channel thrown in as well).

My sister has called up twice to thank me for the great gift. Shoot, I don't even have something like that...just a plain, old TV without cable or satellite. At least it's color...hehehe *smile*

All my gifts this year are small, under $20 each, i'd say. Sis asked not to do a gift exchange this year cus $$ is tight, but mom and i are still doing small stuff.

Usually i spend the most on my b/f; last year spent over $300 on SO but i am boyfriendless this year so will save some money, anyway, tho i do enjoy buying nice things for people who have enriched my life.
