I haven't had a flu shot in many years, partially because I'm young & have a good immune system, even when I do get sick it's never for very long...but also because I HATE needles! :P I usually cry like a baby when the nurse gets anywhere near me with one.

I've heard that if you get the shot, even though you won't feel it as much you can still get the flu & pass it on to others...is this true? I'm not very medically knowledgeable, haha.

Nope, around here unless you have some sort of medical conditions or are a senior citizen they don't give them to ya for the most part.

Heck our Ped didn't give them to my dc's any year & I've been pg in winter & was never given one then either.

I haven't gotten a flu shot in I don't know how long and haven't gotten the flu either (luckily). However this year I did get one because I'm doing work in an emergency room and who knows what you'll get there?

No. I had a sinus infection for two weeks so I've obtained a lecture from everyone in my family now about how I need a flu shot. Since this is the 2nd time I've been sick this year, they are starting to get worried. I think I am just allergic to cold weather. The weather here is mild most of the time and any time I travel to a colder climate I always get sick. Never fails!

I got one through work; county employees get it free. It makes some sense; we are expected to be available in emergencies, so if the County got flu stricken we'd need to be available. Plus a lot of us deal with the people at risk, and/or deal with very high volumes of people, in not very sterile environments. They did offer the nasal variety which is live virus to folks under 50; as I get sick super easily I went ahead and chose shot.

I've never gotten a flu shot until this year, and that was because it was free, and my co-workers went as a pack, and they were giving out free pens.

I don't think I'd ever pay to get it, though. I don't fear the flu enough. The last time I had it, which was four years ago, three Tylenols cured me within two hours.

I got the flu shot once... I had never gotten the flu until I got the flu shot.

I don't think it was supposed to happen that way, but it did.

I don't think I will ever get the flu shot again.
