Maybe we should do that with our doggie Holly. If there is a real Holly (last name) in our family, they will really hate us!

                ROFL! That's awesome, Bookie!

Especially considering that some of those internet jokes are still making the rounds at some of the forums for the *cough* erm... younger crowds out there.

                  Re: Personal interests versus commercialism

I have a few friends who are totally against the OMG CORPORATE MACHINE (sorry for the caps, but that's about how it's said) knowing their every purchase, so we swap store cards every month or so. I imagine Safeway is a little confused when a card goes from baby purchases, to cat purchases, to 'wow, that's a lot of coffee' (that'd be me ), but it makes them feel better.

Of course, same friends think nothing of whipping out the plastic to pay for said groceries, but Mr. Mastercard and Ms. Visa are totally more trustworthy than Safeway.

I do feel like it's extortion or ..something. maybe that's the wrong word- but basically they are forcing you to give out your information to get the savings- there is no way to get "club card" prices without the card. I'm sure tons of people give false names and addresses.

all my grocery store cards are in the cat's name. I was always wondering if they sold my info, so if I ever get mail for Tabby Lastname, then I know where they get it from.

When only cardholders can get sale prices, it's stupid to. HOwever my cat can get the sale prices.

All our animals have "normal" names. I should do this.....
