  • Back From The Time Warp

Thank you all for your patience. As you can see, we were able to recover the lost data which is a great relief to both Nate and I (and I'm sure to all of you that have been posting and keeping journals). Basically, we lost a few days while the site was down and while trying to recover the data...it could have been a lot worse. Not wanting to go through anything like this again, we will have everything backed up daily now (with <A HREF="http://www.turnkeyinternet.net">turnkeyinternet.net</A> - the company that was able to recover all our data for us - a job well done and our sincere thanks).

Things should be back to normal on the site. If you find any problems, please let us know. Daily Money Saving Challenges will start going out again, so expect the next on in your email box tomorrow morning. Thank you all for your patience.

    Jeffrey & Nate

Re: Back From The Time Warp

Got this message when trying to access Journals:-

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: vbformatlastvisit() in /home/saving/public_html/forums/journal.php on line 849

Also is it my settings or has the look of the homepage been changed? I don't remember it being headed Budget Dial Communications in large type, and the headings used to include Journals but they are no longer there. Extra stuff down the left hand side too. It might just be me, but I wondered if anyone else has noticed anything different.

Re: Back From The Time Warp

I think you have the wrong skin...there are several other sites that send their users to our forums, but keep the outside part the same as their original site. Go to the very bottom of this page and in the green colored line you'll see a drop down area to the left of "Contact Us" and just above "About Us" Make sure that is says "SavingAdvice" in that area and it should take care of everything. If not, please let me know and I'll have Nate try and figure out the problem.

When exactly did you get the fatal error warning in the journals? was it just trying to access them or while trying to make a post or make a comment. I'll pass that along to Nate, but the more specific you can be, the easier it will be for him to find the problem. Thanks.

Re: Back From The Time Warp

Thank you so much Jeffrey. You were right - for some reason I had Budget Dial where Saving Advice should be! Now I've changed it, my access to Journals is fine too.

Sorry to have wasted your time - I don't understand enough about these things! I'll know what to do if it happens again. Cheers, Eo'm xx

Not a waste of time at all...it isn't a normal function in most forums. We created it at the request of some of our partner sites, so it certainly would have been confusing to anyone. Glad I was able to help and we could solve the problem quickly
