Full Disclosure Statement: The supermarket within walking distance of my home is closing. Today was their final business day. They were discounting heavily to clear the shelves, and my normal Monday shopping day was augmented by a repeat trip this morning. I will not lack for groceries.

I forgot about dollar scoop night. We had planned on going out for one dollar ice cream tonight, so we went ahead and did that. I did find a nickel while we were there, though! lol.

OK, so milk I still need, and ice cream is taken care of. I love ice cream.

I would but I was going to run to Target thursday or friday to pick up a few things (Armed with my coupons that expire soon and the fact I already put this off a week or 2).

I would play anyway and count that as a planned expense but well, reading the thread reminds me there is no way I can not buy milk for the kiddos for a whole week. LOL.

Or gas. But since these are all planned and somewhat necessary I guess I can just say I will give it a whirl on not spending on anything else. No spending until next Tuesday, eh? Easy peasy.

Easy until temptation hits. We'll see!

Today it should be easy enough not to spend. I brought my lunch. I'm going to be at work until 4:00, rush home and then DH's parents are treating us to Miss Saigon at a local dinner theater. (No money out of our pocket! ) So there won't be any time to spend money! I just have to make sure I don't hit up the pop machine.

Today shouldn't be much of a problem. First, because it's raining, and I'm not inclined to go out, and, second, because this will be a cooking day. Big time.

I wish I could, but with the no grocery shopping challenge I am still doing I dare not add this too it, plus my boyfriend (WWOOOHOO I have a boyfriend!) is getting back in town friday and I have all intentions of enjoying my time with him as he has another trip to Vienna the following week. But I will cheer you all on and support you 100%!! GO TEAM!

Hmm I really feel guilty when wyou all do these, I find it soo easy not to spend on most days..I am home, and I forbid myself to use a CC to internet shop, so other than an icecream truck passing by I have no chance to spend. Until Saturday.

Though DH almost spent last night, he stopped by the store looking to see if any of the meat that was going to espire yesterday was still there and marked down accordingly, there wasn't, I dunno if that is good or bad though.

Ok, ok, I had to spend money today, but before you start throwing those stones, listen to the reason...
I had to send out the coupon train! I would never be forgiven if I held onto it for a week to not spend money. See, I had a good reason

Well, I thought that since we hadn't gotten groceries in a month (and a small last run at that) we'd have to shop. But My Guy surprised me....looking in the cabinets, he's saying "let's use this stuff up!" I'm all over it. Stockpiles or oddball foods, we are after you!

Well, I'm pathetic. I caved at Trader Joe's and spent about $50. Got the milk we needed, and coffee filters... plus four Greek yogurts, three boxes of cereal, a soy and ginger broth, udon noodles, apples, bananas, .........

I hang my head in shame at my complete lack of dedication and apologize for having said I would participate only to fail to hold up my end of my post. I don't feel bad for buying food (it's not like I blew my budget or anything); I feel bad for saying I'd try to do the no-spend thing and then not follow through on it.

OK, final post of the day to report successful completion of a day without spending. The only time I left the place was to take out the garbage.

Lots of cooking done and stored away. Kitchen cleaned as well.

I also am embarked on a radical closet cleaning exercise. Stripped closet number one to the walls this afternoon. I see a Goodwill run in the near future.

Day one ( or is it day 2?? ) of my no spend challenge-

Had to send a healthy snack along with dd for scouts- used 6 oranges sliced up so now we won't have oranges for a week. I made trail mix out of various crackers and cereals I had around the pantry. money spent - none.

dd needed a throw-away lunch bag for tomorrow's field trip- I wanted to runout to the store and get some, knowing I will need them for many field trips to come. decided to improvise ( that's where this challenge gets fun) and use a solid colored gift bag I had . money spent- none.

other dd needed some orange yarn for a school project to make hair. I convinced her the yellow yarn I had and some orange embridery thread mixed in made it look like "highlights" - hehe. money spent- none.

doing okay so far.
