Chase is a company you have to watch in this regard.

The grace period may vary depending on which card you have with them, but I believe Chase card-holders can now only make one payment per statement cycle. They will actually refuse a second payment during the same period.

This was reported by Clark Howard in May.

Heh, that was my first thought, but I think it means the 1000 EF, a 'mini EF' instead of the 6 months one recomended.

Haha! No, "Baby Emergency Fund" was actually something coined by none other than Dave Ramsey.

When I first started out, I really didn't know exactly what I was doing. All I knew was that I needed some money to cover myself in case of an emergency.

Although I did differ from DR's methods in that I actually paid off one of my credit cards first, to use as a temporary emergency fund until a real one was saved up.

Anyways, I first heard of the term from a devout follower of Dave Ramsey, and it has stuck since then.
