  • Pro Tip: Drink Less Alcohol

    All,

Consider drinking what you've got at home, and not ordering alcohol if you go out to eat. You'll save a ton on your restaurant bill.

Drinks cost an average of $15, so if you manage to cut out even one or two drinks per month, you'll save a substantial amount in the course of a year.

Plus, alcohol is often fattening, can be habit forming and tends to dull your wits - you may be better off limiting it anyways.

I like this. One does not need to have a problem in order to be motivated to quit substances. During my annual physical my doc and I had our usual discussion about diet, exercise, and alcohol intake. He challenged me to take a break from drinking. "Just see how you feel", he said. "Even if you decide to return to drinking alcohol." I always try to take away one thing from my visits with him that inspires behavioral change. I've accomplished a list!

So, I gave up alcohol. That was 2 years ago, and I've been sticking with it. I still have no long term plans to quit, but I think I'll stick with this for as long as I find it beneficial.
    History will judge the complicit.

To go along with this, giving up about any purchased drink saves money whether it is coffee, tea, or soft drink.

This is quite true. The cost of a few drinks will often equal as much as the bill for your meal.
For the price of two quality mixed drinks at a decent place you could buy a fifth of decent liquor at the package store and make a whole lot more drinks than two.

I am really glad that I have never gotten into is drinking. It tastes awful to me, it’s expensive, and if I am being frank, it hinders and obstructs my continued carry of firearms when I am not at home. So why bother?

I stopped drinking about 2 months ago as part of a diet I am on, and I feel great.
Much more productive and more money in my pocket.
