I am still confused on this---do I need to save my receipts to use the ecb, or is that done with the red card????

I tried to use a $3/15 the other day and it wouldn't work due to other coupons used after it. I should say it worked but then no other coupons would work. the manager said that corp was changing the rules. the cashier agreed with me but he couldn't do anything.

Well, the deal is that you get $3.00 in ECB's when you purchase the Mylanta. Mylanta just happened to be on sale this week for something like $3.66. Then, there is a printable coupon online for $2.00 off one bottle of Mylanta. So, you only pay $1.66 but you get $3.00 in ECBs to use on your next purchase (I am not sure of the exact numbers, but these ones are close). So, you end up getting more money toward your next purchase than you spent on this purchase. Of course, like you said, you only get the ECBs if you go back and buy something else. But if you buy something that gives you ECBs each time, you only end up spending money the first time you go!
By the way, I like your signature, Snoopy!

I use and prefer the Rite Aid program, which is truly free, nothing out of pocket except taxes and you get cash back instead of being limited to store credit. The CVS program is too much of a hassle for me, especially the fact that they expire in only a month. I read on another board that if you have $5 ECB and buy something that's $3.50, then you don't automatically have a store credit of $1.50 left, you simply lose the change? Ick if that's the case.

Some areas don't have a riteaid. But Walgreens is another option for rebates if you don't want to mess with cvs extra bucks. Walgreens has a easy saver rebates program, and if you opt to put the rebate on a walgreens giftcard, you get an extra 10% back. I'm taking a break from both at the moment...Pretty much stocked up on toothpaste, soap and razors, and money is tight at the moment, so not even bothering with it at least for a few more weeks.

I'm a big couponer, (like, I have 2 1" binders of coupons) LOL, and CVS is where I started...

I was told that I could receive only $40.00 a year in bonus bucks! I was told that it was a govenment rule. All the sales using bonus bucks I can not use. How is it fixed for someone who uses the CVS pharmacy and store and can not receive the bonus bucks as advertised? Has anyone else come across this?

I have been doing this for a couple of years now, and also Walgreen's program. It does add up!
I have also started buying items I would not normally buy that are free after the rebate bucks to give as gifts or donate. I have a box in my closet I put what I am not going to personally use all in until needed for a gift or to donate.
So far since Christmas, I have received 2 free blood glucose monitors--gave one to a lady at church who was just told she was diabetic, and donated the other one (and got a tax ded receipt for it), 2 lap blankets (marked down to $1, were free after I cashed in my bucks), various perfumes (gave as Christmas presents), 3 automatic air fresheners--on sale for $6, I had $4 and $5 off manufactures coupons to combine it with, then got bucks back on one of them.
Also, our Dollar General takes coupons--so I get free Colgate toothpaste there. Colgate puts out $1 off coupons, and DG marks Colgate down to $1 about 1 every 4-6 weeks. I stock up then. Same with my shampoo and deodorant. Just buy the smaller sizes and the coupon covers most of the cost.
