  • Sending support to our troops

There is a website that you can simply post messages for the soldiers fighting. The Web site is OperationDearAbby.net -- and it has been up and running since 2001. If you go there and click on "Send a message," you can send as many messages of support to as many branches of the armed forces as you wish. They will be read by military service members around the globe.
It takes no time and will be greatly appreciated!!!!

If you want to go a step further and send actual snail mail, there are soldiers out there who post to anysoldier.com and ask for mail and other needed items.

Someone just sent me this notice: If you go to the web site www.letssaythanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? I had to copy and paste the addy, but it seemed to work and be on the up and up.

Re: Sending support to our troops

As the mother of a US Marine who is about to go over "there" for his third time, I want to thank the person who started this thread and all those who are going to use the above websites and support our troops.
If you happen to end up with a "pen pal" who is over there, those freebies you get are great to send. I send my son everything under the sun, including female products, he doles it out those under him who dont recieve mail. Then again I found out the first time they were keeping the panty liners and putting them inside their helmets to catch the sweat dripping into thier eyes.

If you are sending packages here is some free packing boxes
Free USPS Packaging for Family and Friends of Service members

The United States Postal Service is providing military family members and friends with packaging materials to send packages to service members.

Call 1 (800) 610-8734, and select option #1, then #1 again, and ask for the "Military pack."

Eight boxes, tape, packaging materials, and labels will be mailed to those who call. They will also provide an I.D. number to re-order. Please allow four to 10 days to receive the materials.

Take advantage of this great opportunity to show support to your loved ones overseas!

                Thank you again
Debi... Proud mother of a US Marine, a college Jr and high school senior
