We use our passports when we fly so haven’t bothered to get Real IDs yet. I guess we still should at some point.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

If you've already got qualifying IDs like passports, it's probably easiest to just 'upgrade' your driver's license whenever it's due for renewal.

But I've gotta say ... it's about time. This implementation has been delayed for what? 10+ years?

According to the article the Real ID act was passed in 2005.

No real hurry here as my license isn't up for a while. I'm also not real interested in flying anytime soon with FAA jobs dubiously on the chopping block. That's going to contribute to a reduction in safety and I don't want any part of it.

I have yet to find the definition of the differences between a black or gold star, or a black or gold circled start.

The best I can figure is the gold star means you have priority to the nuclear bomb shelters.

I was wondering what weird conspiracy you were referring to with gold and black stars. Guess I hadn't heard that one yet! lol
