  • Construction business accounting

    Hi community

I've recently started a construction company and was wondering if any of you are using or know any accounting software, especially for this industry.

I'd suggest asking that question in a construction forum or Facebook group. I don't think any of the regulars here run construction companies but I could be wrong.

A generic accounting software platform like Quickbooks would probably work.
No good for FTX, but it is tailor made for small businesses.

Spent 40 years in the construction business, averaged around 65 employees, $30 mil volume.
We used Timberline estimating and accounting systems by Sage. It's a very good product widely used in the industry.

If you are just a small operator with a couple employees, something as simple as Quickbooks should work fine. I'd also suggest you get partnered up with a good CPA that is willing to teach you how to keep good books..

Thanks a lot for your answer! I'll look into Sage and Timberline.
Researched a bit Quickbooks but I'd like to use smth much better, as I am planning to keep there all the finance.
