  • Idiots driving high powered vehicles, a rant

During the real muscle car era you were lucky to get 350hp off the factory floor but now a days were seeing 450 right out of the showroom and these what I call kids buying them. Right now I'm sitting in front of a 40mph busy street waiting for something and am watching these muscle cars buzz by going at least 60, several going full throttle, I can hear the RPMs roaring then see the car. These idiots are buying these muscle cars and they think they are on a fricking race track

Thats really impressive that you can gauge how fast a car is going by simply looking at it. Can you explain how you honed that skill?

My advice is just stand there with your eyes closed.

Worst part is that they are probably texting or browsing Facebook while they are doing it.......

One can be trained to recognize and accurately tag a car's speed. Cops can actually be certified to do so, and if they can demonstrate a certain level of proficiency (don't know exactly, but let's say "accurate within 5-10mph"), they can actually write tickets off of their judgement of speed without even using a radar gun.

I think many people can make a reasonable estimate of a car's speed by watching it.

This makes sense and is an answer to my question. OP didnt confirm though. Its possible that he is trained to identify the moving speed of a car. Im just wondering what techniques he used to determine rate of speed?

Mustangs aren't muscle cars. Pony Car. I prefer the hellcat charger at 707HP. Too bad my current car only has 106HP.
