Are you guys for or against gun control? And are you for or against places of no guns like schools? Trump has mentioned lifting the ban on guns in schools? Should we? Should all states allow open carry? Or is that going too far?

I'm for state choice on gun control, not the federal government making decisions. I do think gun bans at schools can make them a target unfortunately, but not sure they should be allowed. It's a tough issue.

I think there should be far stricter limits on who can buy a gun, what guns are sold to the public (as opposed to the military and law enforcement), how much ammunition you can purchase, and most importantly, where you can take your gun. There needs to be a federal system/registry so that people can't stock up in one state, drive across the border and stock up even more. And there is absolutely no reason anyone should be carrying a gun in public, not at a school, not at a mall, not at a theme park, etc. A hunting rifle if you're a hunter and a handgun in your home and/or office for protection is fine but that's where it should end.

Ever hear the saying..."when seconds count cops are just minutes away." Im all for law abiding citizens carrying guns. I personally think guns should be carried concealed. Never understood why someone would want to broadcast they have a gun with open carry. I would rather have the element of surprise.

As far as gun control and who can own a gun...yea...it should be much more difficult to purchase a firearm. At the very least you should have to demonstrate competency with a firearm. How to load/unload and you should have to be able to shoot a target and hit it. What kind of bullet grouping would need to be determined but my god...prove to me you know how to use this tool before taking it out into the world.

CCF, why is it a tough issue to allow guns on school? You sound less gun control but should there be areas it's banned? Schools? Hospitals? Churches?

DS I agree fully with what you said but I'm willing to listen to why we shouldn't have more gun regulations.

rennigade should guns be allowed everywhere? I am interested that you are for more regulations on buying guns.

Either you ban and confiscate all guns or leave it alone. Anything in between doesn't do a thing.

The gun companies however wants the 2nd amendment to be "challenged". Every time it is, people goes into gun buying hysteria mode. Every time someone brings up "there should be more background checks!", Knights Armament has an orgasm. I wouldn't be surprised if all the upper management of Colt, S&W, and Knights Armament voted for Hillary. There's a reason gun stocks plummeted after Trump won the presidency.

I am pro open carry, pro concealed carry, pro teachers having access to firearms, veterans to carry, national gaurd and military reserves should carry, and fire department personnel being encouraged to carry.

I do believe in background checks, mental heath screenings, conceal carry classes and licenses, etc.

I do believe there are several issues in the US increasing crime that have nothing to do with gun control.
                1. Perscription drug abuse seems to be growing like crazy.
                2. The gap between the wealthy and poor is growing more and more in this country and those without will eventually fight back and just take what they want.
                3. Mental health care in this country is inadequate IMO and there are too many undiagnosed/unntreated out there.

Those 3 scare me 1000x more than a law abiding citizen carrying a gun. I am not in an area with undocumented worker crime, but if I was I would support more gun carrying citizens in those areas as well.

No...guns shouldnt be allowed everywhere. Bars/alcohol wont mix well with firearms.

I dont understand why in maryland you cant carry at all...yet in virginia and pennsylvania you can carry. That means if you have a concealed permit in VA and start driving north...you have to stop the car before you get to MD and throw the gun in the trunk unloaded....then when you enter PA you can get the gun back out, loaded and on your hip. Please explain to me how that makes sense?

From my experience the ones who are anti gun are those who never dealt with guns. They never hunted, they never shot at targets/clay pigeons. They're just ignorant when it comes to the subject. No one wants to admit they're not knowledgeable when it comes to something but thats the reality. Swallow your pride and admit it. My family and myself have owned guns since I was born. Its interesting how none of our firearms have ever killed anyone. I know its hard to believe that if you do not point your gun at someone and pull the trigger they're probably not going to die. Knowledge is power.

in my conversations with anti gun coworkers, most all admitted to never touching a firearm and being completely gun illiterate. I think there is some truth that those anti gun have most likely never held a gun, but doesnt apply to all.

I'm one of those weirdos who love guns but don't mind if all are banned or confiscated. If it didn't freak my wife out..I would have a nice collection of HK416, Scar L, and a M110 (SR-25).

However, I'll probably feel safer knowing all fire arms are off the street. If I cut someone off on the highway and that guy starts yelling..me getting out of the car can expect a fist fight and not a bullet to the chest.

People are irrational sometimes..and you have no idea what could trigger an unwanted incident that gets out of hand.

Also to prevent tyranny from the government by bearing arms is nonsense. We don't have access to 90% of what military have access to...having a stock pile of ar15s won't do a thing against a drone strike.

                          You've never been to Afghanistan.

And what about the GB, Australia, and Japan?

A failed government is a failed government..having guns will not change a thing.

IF the U.S declared martial law and turned on its citizens tomorrow, I rather be in Afghanistan..probably have a higher chance of survival vs drones, tanks, F22s, aircraft carriers, smart bombs and nukes.

Hmmmm... ask the Russians and the U.S. how well our massive technology worked in Afghanistan. They can't kill us all. That's why no one will ever invade China.
