  • Colin Kaepernick National Anthem Controversy

I suspect that everyone clicking on this thread has at least some level of knowledge regarding this controversy. This thread is open to any discussion related to the topic.

What I am personally curious about is whether or not this controversy is having an impact in your area? Just saw a local story regarding a high school football game being rescheduled to daytime because of death threats. 12 of the 15 cheerleaders for the school knelt during the NA of a previous game. The outrage included the death threats.

I understand many people find it disrespectful and are upset about it. Some are turning off the NFL. I respect their decision to do that, but personally I could come up with several other reasons (domestic abuse, murder, rape) to stop supporting the NFL. What I can't understand is making death threats toward high school students over the matter.

lately it has been people dressed as clowns causing problems.

when the media pushes a story, it catches on and people will either be a copy cat or completely against the issue.

while a very serious concern, I tend to believe these things are a distraction to the general public so that other news stories can fly under the radar.

I've moved this thread to "Everything Else" since it is not a financial topic.
