On Oct 7 2015 I started getting promotional emails from a company I didn't know existed. The company promo email had a link at its bottom, which I followed to unsubscribe from future mailings. The unsubscribe page said it'd take 2-3 business days to remove the address.
October 8 2015 I received another promotional email from the company. I filed it away, visited the unsubscribe page again anyway.
October 14 2015 I received another promotional email from the company. I emailed Customer Service, asking what "2-3 business days" meant to them. To me it means less than one calendar week. Customer Service opened a ticket and said they'd send my email removal request to marketing.
October 15 2015 I received another promotional email from the company. I followed its unsubscribe link to unsubscribe from future mailings. The unsubscribe page said it'd take 2-3 business days to remove the address.
October 21 2015 I received another promotional email from the company. The company promo email had a link at its bottom, which I followed to unsubscribe from future mailings. The unsubscribe page said it'd take 2-3 business days to remove the address. I emailed spam at uce dot gov, sending my history of emails the company sent me, and "before" and "after" screenshots of visiting the unsubscribe page and declaring an end to emails. I emailed the company's Vice President of Customer Engagement, its General Counsel, its Vice-President of Marketing, asking them to get their customer relations management database fixed as Marketing didn't succeed in removing my email address, and enclosing the above-described screenshots of its website. I phoned the company's CEO and left voice mail. The VP of Customer Engagement said "thanks for bringing this to our attention. We will follow-up immediately." Customer Service opened a ticket with the same case number as last week and said they'd send my email removal request to marketing.
October 22 2015 I received another promotional email from the company. I emailed Customer Service to tell them they are violating the CAN-SPAM act. Customer Service opened a ticket with the same case number as last week and the day before.
I really hope the next and last email from this retail clothes company is a "we removed your email address successfully, sorry for the inconvenience" email, but if it isn't, what next steps should I take to get them to stop? Which agencies, executives should I contact? Is legal advice a worthwhile next step?
