My daughter is going to march in the Thanksgiving parade at Disney this year. It has been 10 years or so since I have been there and have no idea how much money I would need to give her. Her park passes are included, as is a $15 dining card and breakfast at the hotel for 4 days plus 2 days for traveling. There is one buffet dinner included, but there is nothing for Thanksgiving. I'm thinking $50 per day plus some money to buy her youngest cousins Christmas gifts. My husband was thinking a minimum of $100 per day. Also, I was thinking of giving her some cash and adding her to our credit card for the bulk of the expenses. She will be rooming with 3 other kids and a credit card is less likely to be stolen than cash laying around. She is good with her money but is a little too trusting of people.

How much spending money for Disney World?

$100 per day and the enticement that whatever she doesn’t spend in Disney she gets to keep.
A valuable money lesson with all the goodies: overpriced park stuff, peer pressure spending, etc.
but the gifts have to cost a certain amount amount so she can’t go cheap there.

She only has to pay for one meal per day and a snack or two. So maybe $25/day tops for that.
As for gifts, how many people does she have to buy for? I'd figure $20-25/person (or whatever amount you decide is appropriate).
If you are paying for her to buy herself a souvenir or two, factor that in too, unless she's responsible for her own personal spending money.
I think $50/day is more than enough and she should come back with plenty still in her pocket.Steve
* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
