New iMAC and Yoga Ideapad

Any advice on what to put on these computers out of the box to avoid the issues later on? iMAC-nothing? Yoga has Windows 8. Thanks.

Ok, so apparently, I can not link yet, but from a frugal standpoint, they are expensive solutions looking for a problem. Why do you need a $1000 laptop that can contort back to be more like a tablet? Why do you need the latest Windows OS that basically has 2 different User Interfaces?

Also, there have been some quality control issues written online, though I am not sure how prevalent these issues are.
