  • Jeffrey...I need help NOT getting emails

Hi Jeffrey, sorry to bother you. I have tried 3 different times to go into my profile to NOT recieve emails. I would like the newsletter, but if it means getting an email everytime someone resonds to one of my threads, I don't want it. I want to read responses when I visit the site only. Any suggestions? Also, can I change my email? The first time I registered I messed up and didn't receive the confirmation letter. Then I re-registered but using my work email. So all these emails are going to my work email and I'm worried I'm going to get into troupl. Oops.

    Thanks for any help!

Kris10, click on My Control Panel near the top-left side of the page.

    - Choose the "Edit Email & Password" link to change your email address.

    - Choose "Edit Options" and scroll down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" to change your subscription preferences. If you don't want any emails from threads, choose option "No email notification". Emails from Savings Advisor and other newsletters are separate options.

Thanks, that helped with the email, possibly. But I tried to change the email and it tells me it is already in use because that is how I originally tried to sign up. Any other ideas?

I had the same question. 262 emails in 4 days is nutz!

                  Thanks for asking for me!

Jeffrey, I'm sorry, but I'm still getting emails. Thankfully they are coming to the right address now, so that is good! But I can't seem to stop the emails. I clicked the box to receive "no emails". I tried to delete my "subscription" folders, but that didn't work either. Any ideas? I'm just not a big fan of email notifications.

Look in your control panel and see if you are subscribed to any threads...if you are, you need to delete those. The no emails should stop any new ones from coming, but the old ones need to be purged from the system. If that doesn't help, let me know and I'll have Nate take a look.

If you like getting e-mails but not all at once in your in box-you're middle ground like me-I have a separate folder that all my "thread replies" go to right away. I like using the thread replies links on e-mail because it takes me right where i left off. But I like not having it my regular in box. In Outlook you'd go to tools, then rules and alerts...after setting up a folder for "Saving Advice." Other e-mail systems have a similar feature, achieved differently. It's also how I control MyPoints, surveys, etc.
