  • Find a way to pay off debt

I always work very hard, I do a lot of different jobs at the same time. But I still owe $50,000. That's why I turned to alcohol, but I realized alcohol only made me worse. I continued to work hard to earn money to cover expenses, and above all to pay off that debt. I'm really stressed out. Can anyone give me tips on how I can reduce my stress so I can keep trying?

Turning to alcohol is never a good idea.
Problems are deeper than financial here.

But, if you want to give more details, then we can try to help you.
Post up your budget. Income, expenses, debt, details about yourself.

The more info you give the better the advice will be.

Welcome. Kudos for coming and asking for help.

First, I hope you’ve quit drinking. Assuming you have, second what was said above. We’d be happy to help. We just need more info. Age, Income, expenses, list of debts including balances and interest rates. Are you solo or have a partner? Kids? The more details you provide the better we can help.

Develop a debt pay down plan and write it down

Track your progress if you think that will help

Set small goals to achieve so you feel successful (it could just be getting a balance down from 2000 to 1500 by November or something like that)

Dave Ramsey is a good source for debt pay down so you may want to search for his techniques and advice

do you have an emergency fund?

Oh, you need a break. As for me, I have the same problems. Small adventures can help me with it. It can be a journey to another city or country for the weekend. This always helps me, just change your location!

Make a list of all your debts, from the smallest to the largest, regardless of the interest rate. Mortgage debts are not included here.

Make a list of your income and your other household bills. Also, list your debts with the interest rate and minimum payment amount for each. Figure out where you can cut your expenses. It is hard to do this with some bills like rent, mortgage, or cell phone, but is easier with groceries, for example. Also, keep a copy of your budget with you so if you are out and want to buy something, you can check if you have money for it. If you don't, move on. Put it on a shopping list for later. Make your meals something fairly simple that contain few ingredients. If you eat out a lot, that may be the problem, so you could start making your own food. This website has really good, easy to prepare recipes that are deliberately inexpensive. https://www.budgetbytes.com/
