I was watching the Food Network on TV and they talked about this website that a woman created that is addicted to using grocery coupons. She spent 16 hours a week and then decided to make a website and profit from her ideas:

I currently play the grocerygame...You really do save so much money. i have tried using coupons in the past and it never worked out. I couldnt keep them organized so they always expired on me.

If I were you, I would save Sunday coupon inserts for a few weeks then try out the TRIAL they offer for only a buck. It really helps to already have a stash of coupons before you try out the trial to see if it will work out for you.

It's a great site for beginners. They aren't always accurate about unadvertised sales, and they only include insert coupons, so any other coupons you have your on your own.

I'd agree, do the trial. But be careful...if you do not cancel before your deadline, they charge the full 10 or 12 (?) week installment, and it's not refundable for time unused.

I used to pay for grocery game, but switched to couponmom.com because it's free and because you don't have to clip and file all the coupons every week. You just write the date on the packet and file that and the web site tells you when the best time is to clip and use the coupon. Don't pay for the service.

There are quite a few sites that are fairly good at matching up current newspaper insert coupons with local sales. In my experience, though, you get the best deals when you make your own list, and then match your own coupons against it. If you have non-insert coupons, sorted, going through them to match up your own reminds you of what you have, and keeps you thinking.

I liked the Grocery Game the first few weeks I was getting back into couponing and saving. But in the long run, it cost me quite a bit, as I trusted their unadvertised sales, which were rung up at full price at the register YIKES and I needed to start my own price book. For me, it's a mental thing, knowing what the standard prices are of things I use. Other people keep a spreadsheet or their own method to know what a good price is.

My favorite is actually to use the stores online ad, as you can usually make and print your shopping list directly, online often includes info on the regular price or savings, and it prints out a list organized into the stores sections, so all the refrigerated/dairy is together, etc. If you organize your coupons similarly, it's quick to find your coupons and get through the store.
