Waterless Cookware?

Anyone using this? I know there are several brands of varying prices, but I'm more curious if you're finding them easy to use and if they save money in the long run. It would be nice to use no oil when I cook and not have food sticking to the pans.

I want to upgrade my cookware next year because my last upgrade to cast iron is driving me crazy. They're just a pain in the rear to clean and re-season which doesn't suit my busy lifestyle. I also learned way to late that its not recommended you cook acidic foods in them and I make a lot of that stuff. Prior to that I bought various nonstick or stainless steel or aluminum options that never lasted long, didn't heat well, or stained which was also annoying.

Food sticks in waterless cookware. It is a pain to clean.

If you follow the rules of cast iron you will have much better luck. Keep the acids out and season properly the first time (do not believe that the seasoning it comes with it good enough, it is not), preferably with bacon grease, and then you should be fine with just a thin coat of oil each time. Never use soap. There are all kinds of youtube videos to show how to properly season. Just get one good all-clad pan for cooking your acidic foods and stick with the properly seasoned cast iron for everything else.

When I bought them the directions actually said to reseason them so I did. Bacon grease was one of the options, but I do not eat pork so I don't have that grease around and the smell is pretty awful. I think I just used canola oil, which is fine I guess, but I don't have time for the constant reseasoning and then everything sticks anyway so they never really clean. I don't ever use soap on them either. Not cooking acidic foods just isn't a realistic option since that's a large part of my diet whether cooking or eating out. I'm fine keeping them around in case of an intruder though, but for cooking I think I'm done. Still haven't settled on anything yet so I'll look into all-clad.
