I've always found Walgreens to be cheaper in N. California, but I was given a $100 CVS card and I still have my Extracare account so I want to make the most of it. Are the CVS rewards worth the effort to stack them and try to really optimize? I remember years ago there was a series of posts on this site about someone who was regularly getting stuff for free or even making money off of CVS couponing

homein2007 - my sense is that you're almost always better for signing up for a rewards program at a place you're actively shopping at, so if you frequently go to CVS, by all means, sign up. However its just for $100 and you're going to make two or three purchases, its probably not worth it.
