    Week 17 deposit

I deposited $42 to the challenge today. My deposit total is $637 which does not include the interest I have earned. The best part for me is that some of my family members are saying "when we do this next year". LOL...this year is hard enough, but I'm excited and encouraged that they are enjoying this challenge as much as I am.

      Week 18 deposit

I deposited $41 to the challenge today. This is the first year in a long, long time that I am being paid bi-weekly (we were paid bi-monthly), so I'm looking forward to an extra paycheck this month. We have some housing expenses that must be paid, but I'm hoping to put the majority of the "extra" paycheck into my emergency fund.

            Week 19 deposit

I did it!!! I deposited $40 to the challenge today and I am now done with the $40 increments. Today is also my birthday, so it is a double celebration - WooHoo!!!

Savings tip: If you patronize stores, restaurants, etc. that have free frequent shopper programs, make sure that you sign up because I have received a lot of birthday freebies. So far I have redeemed a free 1 topping pizza, a free burger and dessert, and free makeup, but I still have free coffee, food and clothing (JCP $10 off any purchase of $10 or more) that I'll be redeeming before the offers expire. Thanks MaraJadeC and scfr for the encouragement!

                Fantastic job on the challenge!

I like how you go for the highest increments repeatedly Gets the painful part out of the way sooner!

Thanks MoneyTips4U! I'm hoping that in a few years I'll be able to do your challenge of $5000 in 52 weeks - now that is awesome!

Thanks creditcardfree! I just checked my account and I have a balance of $718.69 that does not include the $39 transfer that I scheduled on Friday (I have this account with Ally), but it includes interest. My spreadsheet shows total deposits to date of $757.00 which includes the $39 deposit.
