Day 175 - 27 weeks to go

November 18th, 2018 at 08:28 AM by Tina

Day 7 of fasting. 77 kilos. Waist 35" hips 44" BMI 25.4. I am still borderline overweight and have a lot of belly fat. After meditation this morning they were dicussing the 5-2 diet and fasting. I didn't let on I am currently fasting but chipped in with my own earlier experiences. I think I will go back to regular fasting on Monday and Friday. The traditional Christian fast days are Monday and Wednesday but Wed is not convenient for me. Let's not get legalistic here.

At...

Prayers Needed, 12/31 is the Date

November 17th, 2018 at 07:06 PM by Amber

Today is the day. I spoke with a few friends and I’m giving the SO until 12/31 to move. I originally had a later date. I’m also nervous so I need all the prayers I can get. I’m nervous as hell but I know it needs to be done. Someone posted on my previous post to give a date, so the date as been set

I’ll be applying to both Aldi and Walmart for a cashier job, fingers crossed.

Mystery Shop

November 17th, 2018 at 01:20 PM by CB in the City

My mystery shop ended up being pretty much a wash. I bought an ornament for $15, so with the $5 reimbursement and the $12 payment, I made $2. If they give me full credit. Still, I'm glad I bought the ornament; it has special meaning and I'll always enjoy putting it on my tree. And it made more sense to me to buy something I really wanted rather than buy something I didn't want for $5. Believe me, pickins were slim for $5 items.

I did a Pine Cone survey yesterday, but I...

Day 174

November 17th, 2018 at 08:41 AM by Tina

Day 6 of fasting. 78 kilos. Feeling ok today. My body has switched to fat burning mode which is logical. The body stores up fat for times of famine so when you stop eating it uses those supplies. I walked into town and back with no more rests than normal and bought some groceries for when I break my fast Wednesday evening.
oranges .61
red peppers 3.00
bananas 2.49
popping corn 1.79
pasta .75
can tomatoes .70

I recieved an electricity bill for nzd57.93. It will come...

Payday Report for 11/16/18 Plus Lots of Miscellany

November 17th, 2018 at 02:00 AM by Lucky Robin

Been a while since I felt well enough to do one of these, but things are improving with the rheumatoid arthritis this week after about three weeks in full inflamation mode and I am typing with relative ease again, which is why I've been posting this week at all.

We had some overtime this week, 10 hours. All of it went to DH's crown, because it turns out our dental insurance didn't cover any of it, even though it said it would when they did the preauthorization. DH is going...

Stopping the bleeding

November 17th, 2018 at 01:11 AM by Amber

To stop the bleeding I have to pay an extra $200 a month on my student loans. Today I made my first $100 extra payment. I’ll be doing this each pay period. These things are highway robbery. It’s sad that any extra payment does not go to the principle first.

I’m writing my state senators and congresswomen and men. This is God awful

insanely busy week

November 17th, 2018 at 01:07 AM by LivingAlmostLarge

So my DH has been traveling this week for work. Things have been super busy. I went to the podiatrist on Tuesday and figured out that I had plantar fascitiis. I ended up buying new sneakers and inserts, and getting on a 6 day regime of steroids. I walked into a store and bought the Brooks GTS Adrenaline sneakers and with the SOLE inserts my feet feel amazing. Guess going to buy cheap sneakers was not the right choice.

Anyway Wednesday morning I awoke to finding out our new...

A Little Money In

November 16th, 2018 at 03:13 PM by CB in the City

I got two of my wishes. I got a mystery shop payment ($12) and my Amazon gift cards came ($150). I have two more mystery shop payments to come, bigger ones. And eventually I will get the $200 check for working at the polls.

Yesterday was a pretty quiet day. It was both snowy and rainy and finally settled on rain. For that reason, I went and got GS1 after school, who has a pretty long walk, and a lot to carry. GS2 went to piano lessons with a friend.

Today I have a mystery...

Still Waiting On Reimbursement

November 16th, 2018 at 02:55 PM by Creditcardfree

The process of getting reimbursed for all costs and entitlements after a move seems to always be a chore. My husband has been working for three weeks now, and only today did we get confirmation that the travel claim has been received. Most of delay was here locally. Always confusion and disagreement amongst different parties on how to process! At this point I'm praying it has been done correctly and will not be kicked back to only have to submit again.

Amazingly, I have been...

This & That

November 16th, 2018 at 02:14 PM by Monkey Mama

Still in super busy mode. & still completely exhausted on the emotional front (always someone in the hospital or having a crisis).

Speaking of tragedy, the kids have school off Friday because of the smoke in our region. Smoke from the fires. That's a first. The air quality is just horrible here and we feel very trapped indoors.

I actually had an impromptu day off on Monday. Hallelujah! That was a long overdue day off, and so appreciated. We were having major IT issues...

New Sinking Fund and Other Stuff

November 16th, 2018 at 12:43 PM by Amber

Well as soon as you make it, it goes out. Today was payday. I took care of the following, tithes were paid, paid on both remaining CCs, took care of the cable (my portion for the month of November), added to my sinking funds; but what I’m most proud of was creating a sinking fund for the house 🏡.

I was planning on adding $85 a pay date to cover the HOA for the following year, but I bumped it to a $100. I’m thinking a little extra a pay date won’t hurt, in case they...

Day 173

November 16th, 2018 at 08:40 AM by Tina

Day 5 of fasting. Halfway through. The benefits are beginning to show. A friend commented that my face looked better and I look younger. My skin is softer and the the lines are less deep. The caffeine withdrawal headache has gone and I don't feel hungry. 79.5 kilos.

Medical Money and Cystoscopy Results

November 16th, 2018 at 01:49 AM by Lucky Robin

The good news is that at least the insurance covered the cystoscopy 100%. There will be ten hours of overtime on tomorrow's paycheck. It is earmarked for the medical fund, though some of it may have to go to pay for DH's crown since the dental insurance, which said they would pay 50%, denied it when it was actually billed. DH has to look into that and also see if he was signed up for the wrong plan and correct it for next year, because he needs another crown.

The dentist...

Busy Day Yesterday

November 15th, 2018 at 02:43 PM by CB in the City

My DIL's cat passed shortly after I wrote my entry yesterday. I had just called the vet to make an appointment to put her down. My son came home and the two of them took her to the vet for cremation. It was a sad beginning to the day.

However, it was GS1's birthday, and there were several distracting events in the evening. First of all, GS2 had some of his artwork displayed at a local show, so we went to see that. Then GS1 performed in a school concert. He was in both...

Day 172

November 15th, 2018 at 08:12 AM by Tina

Day 4 of fasting. I felt rather weak doing my volunteer stint this morning and was strongly tempted to have a cookie to relieve the syptoms, but I know it will pass if I persevere. Down to 80.5 kilos.

My Mother is Frustrating Me but I Refuse to Let Her See It

November 15th, 2018 at 02:31 AM by Lucky Robin

My mother keeps making snide remarks to my son. I have told her in the past that if she has issues with something she needs to talk to me and DH about it, not bring DS or DD into things they have no business being in.

Well, for years she has thought we weren't paying our fair share of the utility bills. Now I know we have been overpaying our share all along. Not because she would show me any of the bills, though, but because I found them and went through them on numerous...

Our Angels

November 14th, 2018 at 08:33 PM by Banker Gurl

I’m so so sad to share this news, but as you all know, after many years of waiting my husband and I were expecting twins. We now have two angel babies watching over us.

💗Ember Lynne 👼
💙Bridger John 👼

At 21 weeks I unexpectedly went into labor and was hospitalized. They were able to stop my labor and put me on 100% inverted bedrest. We did everything we could possibly do to keep our sweet babies safe in my tummy. After 11 days of hospitalization, constant...
