I was able to enter my direct deposit information into the IRS website yesterday evening. So now I wait. Tomorrow is pay day & I expect two nice sized checks so that’s something to look forward to. I have already scheduled a $1k payment to one of my credit cards.

So our departure flights to Switzerland🇨🇭via Air France 🇫🇷 were canceled yesterday. They aren’t offering rebooking at this time. The travel company didn’t take my final payment which was due yesterday. I contacted them & hey basically told me what I already knew. They were looking for other flight options & aren’t charging me until that is resolved. Also, they aren’t cancelling trips until it’s within 14 days of departure. We got it and like many of you, we put it in savings. We don't have any mortgage or outstanding loans and I'm working so it's just extra emergency funds. If we really do go into a big recession that lasts a long time and/or if I loose my job. We might need it. So for now, I put it in our online savings account where it gets the biggest return on interest. Long term I think we'll be fine but these are such strange days.

I finished painting the little chair and I am so pleased with how it turned out! The color is great, especially considering I mixed about 8 little bottles together and was just going on faith that it would be a pretty color.

There is a big crack that I couldn't fix without wood filler, so I will have to do that when I can get out again and buy some. Or perhaps I can order some.

Our bank has where you can round up your savings either to the nearest $1 or $5 so we chose the $1 option for now...so everytime the account is used it takes the savings up to the next $1 and puts it into my ice account...due to have a chronic illness we get subsidies on a couple things it adds up to around $200a year so I have now made it go it strait into our ice account it has gone up $36.15 already this month so it is climbing slowly...I am trying to see what other small changes...

I received my stimulus deposit today. It will go straight to savings.

It has been about 3 weeks since I went to the grocery store and I was totally out of fresh fruits and veggies, bread, coffee creamer, eggs, chicken etc. I still have enough other food to stretch another week or two but decided to go today for the staples. The store was not at all crowded, I was able to find everything I needed (but noticed they were very low on the usual TP, Paper towels, wipes, hand sanitizer)....

The IRS updated their website. You can now check on your stimulus "economic impact payment" status. & you can also provide your direct deposit information if you didn't have a "direct deposit refund" on your filed 2018 or 2019 tax returns.

The website just went live today and so it may be better to check back later.

You will get a confirmation once you go through the process. Or you will get a message stating "Payment Status Not Available" with a link to information on eligibility rules. (To clarify: You will get the "Status Not Available" message if your income is too high to collect the stimulus payment, or if you are otherwise ineligible). If you don't receive any sort of confirmation, you will need to try again. (I was apparently too slow my first time through, but that will probably be a common problem today. The second time I tried I got a confirmation message).

It's payday today. As always, grateful that I still get a paycheck even when schools are not in session. We received our stimulus payment today, we thought we would be getting $1200 each, for a total of $2400.00 The actual payment was $2189. Can anyone shed any light on why the difference in the amount?

Either way we are super happy for any bonus money in our lives! I moved it over to savings this morning. We also had some medical bills to pay out and we painted one of our extra bedrooms.

The stimulus check hit my account this morning! Allowing me pay off the full balance of my construction loan! 6 months before the 0% interest expires!


The small medical loan is up next. Hopefully by June it will be gone and we will be down to just one debt.

My stimulus payment, as well as my social security payment, hit my bank account this morning. I paid my bills. It's nice to have a plump balance in checking.

Yesterday my grandson delivered my groceries to my door, and I paid my DIL $40 via Zelle. These groceries should get me through the end of the month.

I made a batch of chili, which is now in the fridge, and I'll have a serving today. Then it goes in the freezer.

Financial news, my stimulus/loan hit my account today, $1200. I added this to my emergency fund. I also, received the check from my side gig (last week) and decided to pay my car insurance for three months, saving me about $16.

Well when texting with my daughter she slightly mentioned that her and SIL have been discussing looking for their own house as they have " rented" at a huge discounted rate our house for the last 5 years.

I knew sooner or later they may move was just not really thinking it would be now. They have OK jobs and thanks to low rent and such have grown a fairly decent savings.

Hubbys cancer treatment starts tomorrow kinda nervous kinda just want it started and finished already...its scary as its also the beginning of the flu season here and he won't get his shot till next week..but so far we have been doing good health wise...so far we know our out of pocket expenses will be around $750 which we have put away already and I have $2000 in our ice acct which will hopefully offset any other bills that may arise..and if worse comes to worse we always have...

I have not received my stimulus check, but my friend did Venmo me my share of the refund for our canceled event. It was about $60 less than what I paid because they apparently charged us a fee for them canceling an event. Go figure. So that was $977.20 deposited into my account today.

Yes, it's been a strange time here, hasn't it? I have little financial news as we've done little spending.

Sunday night I ordered a few things, about a dozen I think, from Target.com. It was mostly fill-in groceries, pet food, and some toiletries. The Easter ham will be on the agenda for quite some time. What's that joke from Dorothy Parker: "Eternity is two people and a ham." There's three of us, so maybe we can outwit eternity.
