Yesterday was a day spent inside. Every time I do that, I feel I have done my part -- to keep myself and others safe.

Tomorrow I will meet my kids at the park for my birthday celebration. My ex and his wife may come, too -- that wasn't made clear. If they do, they're welcome.

The $98 payment from Allstate hit the bank. That was really more than I was expecting for using DriveWise. I haven't actually driven that much, times being what they are!

Well, I just got hit by a scam company. They called promising me a 50% discount on my DirectTV bill through a promotion with EBay. You may have heard about this scam where they ask you to pay for several months of your new promotional rate with an EBay gift card. I ordered the lamp yesterday -- $140 -- as well as the shower basket -- $21. Variables are at 40%. I'm supposed to get the lamp tomorrow.

Allstate notified me that it has sent my DriveWise refund to the bank -- hasn't hit yet -- but it will be $98.

Everything else is on autopilot. Pay day next week.

Went to the TIA clinic and they said that it looks like I had a TIA...so now I am on aspirin everyday for the rest of my life..I hate medicine but need to do what the docs say...had my regular doc straight after (an hour later) by the time I got to that appointment she had already called and discussed everything with my regular doc...I do have to a carotid ultrasound as soon as they organise it..I also have a sinus infection but because of its symptoms I had to have a covid test...

Life here is very quiet but still busy as always. We have been in Stage 4 Lockdown for the last two weeks, so mask wearing is mandatory, the government has severely restricted the types of businesses that are essential, we are only allowed to travel up to 5km from our homes with the allowance of one person doing food shopping and exercise is restricted to one hour per day outside. Our cases started skyrocketing scarily and it was very stressful watching the news for a while....

Well our Renter in Rental #2 moved out at the end of July as scheduled. Since we knew they were moving out we started looking for a renter early, and signed a lease with a new young couple mid-June, which would start August 1st. They were able to move in a few days early since the last renter had already left and had done an excellent job with cleaning etc.

Yikes I haven't updated savings in a month! We did get the bill for our new AC system ($9K, but will also get a bill for about $1K from the electrician), we put it on our Discover to get our Cash Back Rewards and will have to pay that mid September. For now I am relishing being at $22K! We took in our coin jar, it was so heavy I couldn't even lift it! That was a nice bonus of $360!

My birthday yesterday was very low-key. My son brought over some flowers and cake. We are going to have a birthday party on Saturday, because GS2 has the sniffles, and my birthday present hadn't arrived yet, anyway.

I talked to my other son and several friends. My Oregon grandchildren are working on something to send to me.

DH and I decided to sign up for a dietbet. We've gotten so far off track and I am now at a higher weight than I have ever been in my life. I don't know if he is or not, but it looks like he is. I am ruining my knees at this weight and am in constant pain. So the dietbet we joined was $35, so that is $70 out. It starts on the 13th and is a 4 week kickstarter.
