All of a sudden there is progress -- fast progress -- in getting my kitchen floor redone.  Today the tile guys came and looked it over and made their recommendations.  Then I went to Floor & Decor and chose tiles.  On Monday they will begin demolishing the old tile.

Yesterday was the day that had to come.  I had to have Iggy put down.  The fluids helped for a long time, but eventually his health declined to the point where I felt it was kinder to him to let him go, rather than prolong his agony.  I was a blubbering fool all day yesterday, but today I am feeling better.  It helps to know that I did the right thing for him, even though it was so hard for me.

After a one week delay, today is closing day. I'm excited, but a little nervous. I think more nervous than when I bought my condo for some reason. I'm heading there this toning to make sure that I have the mail box key identified correctly. Then my parents' may have an extra key, which I will pick up. My realtor has a set as well. I hope the bee buyer enjoys the condo. It was good to me for many years.

Yeah, that's how I feel all the time with our DD gone to uni.  It's so quiet. No Taylor Swift blasting all over the house, no Phoebe Bridgers going long into the night, no endless phone calls.  I do video chat with her a lot, but those other 23 hours are eerie.

My cousin's daughter is in her 2nd year at college.  She is going for free at a cal state college and living at home.  She had a 2 year tuition free scholarship.  Amazing.  So she's going to have 2 years of university for free and then transfer to a different UC or Cal-State and finish up.  So amazing.   She plans on being an elementary school teacher which as people know is not the best paying job but an essential one.  Since it's not high...

Well has been quite a crappy day, I woke up with vertigo, mixed with my dizziness it is the worst feeling ever and I am glad it is started to subside...it makes me so sick....on top of that hubby had an appointment with his urologist to get his psa results and they came back that his cancer is back...his only treatment right now is hormone treatment, I'm just hoping that it works...we still have to see the docs and set up a plan to who is monitoring what but it was a pretty crappy...

I woke up with a UTI this morning which necessitated a visit to Immediate Care and then to Walgreens.  I didn't pay anything at IC -- that will come later -- but I did fill a prescription and got an OTC drug, for a grand total of $56.  While I was there, I picked up an eyebrow pencil for $7.
The pharmacist told me the antibiotic would probably be rough on my stomach, so I'm waiting till dinnertime to take it.  I took the OTC drug and so far I think it's helping...

Thursday afternoon my apartment complex got back power. I was so grateful! I never realized that I could sweat so much doing absolutely nothing. And then to add insult to injury, it would be hotter inside than outside! I now have all my creature comforts back: air conditioning, hot showers, & internet to binge on Netflix. So I'm leaning more and more to a new furnace and AC.  Our furnace is 19 years old.  It will cost us around $13k all in (another estimate) with 15% costco cash back rebate.  Includes permits and electrical work all done and disposal.
I know it would be smarter to at least use the AC from the other person and pay only $6k.  But I'm not sure that's what I really should do.  We can sell it with a new AC and new furnace.  But the money.  Do we have...

Happy to say that my work trial was only really for the morning and that by lunchtime I was offered the job!  I'm really happy that searching for a job is now over and done with, the people are lovely and I feel like I could be there for a while.
