Well, it's done! We choose to refi, with debt consolidation. We closed on Friday, and funds will be dispersed tomorrow. The process was super easy, all electronic and virtual... until the disbursement. LOL. They are sending me checks, made out to each debt. That I will then endorse, and SEND VIA SNAIL MAIL to each company. I can't even with that. 
Due to timing, we should expect a little bit back from each account, as we have made payments, and not incurred new debt. Anything...

It was my DH's birthday on Friday, and we decided to keep it pretty low key.  I bought him some summer shirts on sale at Old Navy with their Old Navy promo cash, and we went out for Mexican food.  It got a little chattier than I anticipated as a former student was seated next to us.  I had her in one of my adjunct literature classes years ago, and I'm a bit embarassed to say I hardly remembered her.  But she remembered the class, introduced me to her whole family...

They are forecasting temps in the 90s the next few days. It's still pretty temperate, so I took my walk this morning to take advantage of the coolness. I walked to Walgreens and bought two packages of Poise pads in order to take advantage of a sale. Cost was $29. Variables are at 44%. Since we are almost halfway through the month, that's about the right pace.

We don't have a lot of grocery stores where we live...Aldi, Kroger, Sav-a-lot, and Walmart are basically it. Target has some grocery items, but not a whole lot. So, we basically shop Aldi and Kroger and when Walgreens has something on sale nonperishable wise, I will go there. Well got the yard mowed and the dog likes it better..he doesn't get so cold...our neighbour quite often when he is doing his yard work will mow and edge our yard...without asking...he is great like that...and quite often I will make banana bread so always end up with 2 or 3 so will always take them 1-2 of them..they have 3 girls...they came over yesterday to say thankyou for the banana bread...and to let us know they will be going away for a month at the end of june they are going...

Yesterday, when I was out walking, I ran into a garage sale. I ended up buying a box of dishes for $10, and a Delft vase for $5. I was only interested in some of the dishes, but the owner wanted to offload the whole box. $10 was a good price for what was in there. I added sixteen bowls to my set, mostly the small fruit bowls, which I really needed. Yes! I am passing along seven other pieces to Goodwill.

It has rained here everyday for 2.5 weeks...don't ever remember it raining like this here before...tomorrow we are suppose to have a cloudy day but no rain so hopefully I can mow the grass...its almost up to ur knees...and the dog hates it as he is little and it makes him cold and wet..I'm just hoping it's not to wet to cut but its the only dry day till wednesday then more rain for another week...which is great we need rain..but on the other hand it makes everything grow really...

After almost 3" of rain yesterday, I'm happy to see the sunshine.  My garden was looking a little tired of the wet too.
I have some errands, including a birthday gift for DH and plenty of grading to do.  Online classes-bleah.  Summer online classes-double bleah. but only a bit over two weeks to go.  I'm eager to get into serious decluttering and planning, but too much grading hovering over my head.  Soon!

My Best Buy service plan/Webroot subscription just renewed. It must have been one year ago that I bought it after falling for a scam and getting lots of malware installed on my computer. I can't believe it was only a year ago. What a nightmare that was! It seems I made it through -- so far-- with no ill effects.
It will cost $200 for another year of service. I'll see how it goes -- but right now I'm feeling that it paid for itself and I am enjoying the peace of mind. It's there...

I have been doing our budget for 2023...we are trying to save for a house deposit but housing prices are sky rocketing...seriously I don't know how anyone here will be able to buy a house again...rents have sky rocketed..we pay a high rent already for a house that isn't worth it...we have been looking at other rentals but they are worth the money or the moving expenses either. We want to stay within 30 mins of this area as it has all our specialists/doctors etc. Most houses here...

One good thing that came out of the pandemic for me was kicking the Starbucks habit.
Before the pandemic, I only had Starbucks as a treat.
At least that is what I told myself and anybody else who asked.

Finally closed my books and I was right, I went way over in the travel category last month due to poor planning. I can't beat myself up over spilled milk, I just have to make adjustments, primary adjustment, be involved in the planning whenever there is a trip.
