Practical Ways To Attract Money

May 4, 2022 by Kathryn Vercillo

Practical Ways To Attract Money

When people talk about trying to attract money, a lot of us tend to tune out. We want practical, useful, strategic advice for earning money. “Attracting it” just sounds a little too vague, ethereal, “woo woo” or out there for many of us. And yet, there are a lot of people out there talking about this concept. It’s obviously worked for some people. So, what we need are practical ways to attract money. Do they exist? Definitely.

How Does Attracting Money Even Mean?

Most often, when people talk about attracting money, they’re referring to it in the sense of The Law of Attraction. This is, arguably, a universal law that says that what you focus on and give energy to is what you will attract. There are a lot more nuances to it, depending on who you talk to. For example, you can focus on things intentionally but also might subconsciously have other thoughts that sabotage those intentions.

So, you can get complex about this if you want. However, at a really basic level, attracting money just means that you focus on bringing money into your life. Naturally, when you focus on something, you’re more likely to get it than if you don’t focus on it.

Practical Ways to Attract Money

So, what are some practical ways to attract money? Here are a few to get you started:

Set Financial Goals

How are you supposed to attract money if you don’t even know what your financial goals are? What do you want from your money? How much do you want to earn per day or month or year? What are your savings goals? What goals do you have for investment, retirement, and big expenses? Get very clear and very specific about your financial goals. Write them down. Review them regularly. When you know exactly what your goals are, you’ll find it easier to achieve them. You’ll attract money because you’ll be certain why you want it in the first place.

Read Money Books, Listen to Money Podcasts

Make it a habit to educate yourself about money every single day. Whether it’s a ten minute podcast or a chapter of a book, devote time to reading and listening to information about money. You’ll pick up lots of great tips and information about how to attract money, save money, earn money, use money, etc. More than that, though, you remind yourself that this is something that matters to you. When you prioritize learning about money, making space for that in your day, you remind yourself to pay attention to attracting money.

Talk About Money

Many of us find it difficult to talk about money. Our society doesn’t foster open and honest communication about money. Many of us have money hang-ups. As a result, we struggle to talk about money in our friendships, family relationships, marriages, and even at work. This creates so many stumbling blocks in our lives, emotionally as well as financially. So, learn to talk about money.

Open communication about money frees up those emotional blocks. And it’s also one of the most practical ways to attract money. Here’s an example: you want to make more money this month. You don’t tell anyone. Therefore, you might struggle to find a way to make more money. In contrast, you tell everyone that you know that you’re looking for ways to earn more right now. Naturally, some people will have suggestions. They might even have opportunities that they can offer to you. You end up making more money because you told people that you wanted to and they helped you out.

See a Therapist Who Works With Money Issues

If you really have trouble with money in your life, consider working with a therapist. Many therapists are able to assist you in processing all of the baggage that comes up when money is involved. Yes, you have to spend money to see a therapist. And that’s actually a good thing. It’s another reminder to yourself that this is a priority in your life. You are willing to prioritize learning to talk about money and work through money challenges so that you can better attract money in the future.

Begin Each Day With a Money Affirmation

Okay, so affirmations don’t sound like practical ways to attract money. Try it anyway. Affirmations work. Start each and every day with an affirmation about attracting money. If nothing else, this reminds your brain that you want to bring money into your life. Naturally, you’ll then find yourself on the lookout for ways to get that money. That’s really what practical ways to attract money are all about – focusing on keeping that intention at the forefront of your mind.

Surround Yourself With People Who Attract Money

Obviously, money shouldn’t be the only factor when you’re making friendships and even acquaintances. However, it doesn’t hurt to include people in your life who are good with money. You can learn from them, directly as well as by example.

The more people you have in your life who have a similar money mindset to your aspirations, the more likely you’ll be to reach those goals yourself. Consider, for example, what your friends spend their money on. Do you regularly go out to really expensive dinners because that’s just what your friends do to socialize? Is that in line with how you want to spend your money? If not, then changes are in order. Find people whose money values align with yours in terms of savings, earnings, spending, etc.

Schedule Time to NOT Worry About Money

There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. For the most part, it’s good to find practice ways to attract money by focusing on money. However, you don’t want to focus on money all of the time. If all you do is think about money and how to get more of it, you’re not living a full life.

So, schedule in time to not think about money. For example, schedule a vacation, set a budget, and then don’t worry at all about money during that time as long as you stick to your budget. Similarly, set aside an hour per day to meditate, talk a walk, snuggle a pet or loved one, etc. Fill your life with things you love that don’t cost any money at all. Don’t think about money while doing them.
